What qualifies as fraudulent paperwork and lying on a mortgage application?
- Altered or falsified pay stubs, letters of employment or other docs
- Misleading or inflated info about income or length at a job
- Misrepresenting job status (full/part-time, hourly/salaried, commission-based or self-employed)
- Backdated letters of employment
- Not disclosing all debts
- Misrepresenting or omitting details of the property to inflate the value
- Lying about the purpose of the property (e.g., listing as your primary residence when it’s a rental or vice-versa)
